How to Print an A4 Shipping Label on a 4×6 Thermal Printer

Inspect every page before choosing a crop

Load the PDF locally and review its page thumbnails. If pages share the same layout, one proportional crop can be applied to all of them. If the carrier changes placement between pages, export or review those pages separately.

Zoom changes only the preview. Fit the full source page on screen before drawing so the crop boundary is based on the page, not on a clipped viewport.

Keep the complete label and its clear margins

Draw outside the label boundary where practical. Do not crop through bars, QR modules, human-readable identifiers, or the blank space immediately around machine-readable symbols.

The converter fits the selected rectangle inside 4×6 inches without stretching. A crop with the wrong aspect ratio may leave white space; that is safer than distorting the barcode.

Print once, at the intended size

Choose the printer's 4×6 stock and use Actual size or 100%. Adobe documents that Fit can reduce or enlarge a page to the selected paper, while Actual size prints without scaling.

Avoid a chain where the converter fits the label to 4×6 and the print driver fits it again. Confirm orientation in both the PDF and printer dialog.

Verify the physical result

Print one label, compare its borders and code area with a known-good carrier output, then scan every symbol. Carrier acceptance depends on the carrier and print quality; this utility cannot guarantee acceptance.
